Sila works with coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and VS Code. Set up once, and your agent can scrape pages, run crawls, and write code against the API.

Set up with one command

This command:
  1. Opens your browser so you can authorize the CLI. It saves an API key on your machine.
  2. Installs the Sila skills for your agents.
  3. Prints the MCP server setup lines.
You need a Sila account. Sign up free at sila.sh for 500 credits a month. There is no anonymous access for agents. To have your agent run the setup, paste this prompt:

Check the terminal name on the authorize page, then click Authorize. To skip the browser, create a key on the API keys page and run sila login --api-key sila_your_key. See CLI for every command.

Install the skills

Sila publishes two skills: Install them with the skills installer:
Add -g to install globally and --all to install for every supported agent. An agent can also read the onboarding skill directly. It covers install, login, and choosing between live tools, app code, and plain REST:

Connect the MCP server

The hosted MCP server lets your agent call Sila as tools. Add https://api.sila.sh/mcp to your client and sign in with OAuth or an API key. See MCP server for each client.

Read Sila as markdown

Sila publishes pages that agents read well:
  • https://sila.sh/llms.txt lists the pages, docs, and agent resources.
  • Add .md to a Sila page URL to get it as markdown, for example https://sila.sh/pricing.md. The home page is https://sila.sh/index.md.
  • Or send Accept: text/markdown to the normal page URL.
These docs also work with llms.txt tools. Append .md to any docs page URL to get its markdown.
