# Authentication

> Authenticate every request with a Bearer API key.

Create keys on the **API keys** page. A key looks like `sila_` followed by 48 lowercase hex characters.

Send it in the `Authorization` header:

curl https://api.sila.sh/v1/crawls \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sila_your_key"
```

>
> This is the only accepted header. Sila rejects other auth headers with `401 unauthorized`.

Revoke a key on the **API keys** page. Revoked keys stop working immediately.
